Randall Howard General Partner
Randall Howard, a founder partner of VERDEXUS, is a senior serial technology executive working to build world leading, high growth technology organizations. Randall brings a global network based on deep executive experience particularly in US, Europe and Canada.
Randall is "hands-on" Chairman at recent VERDEXUS portfolio investment, iotum (www.iotum.com).
From its acquisition in May 2004 to April 2006, Randall served as CEO of Verdexus portfolio company, Software Innovation (www.softinn.com).
In 1984, he founded MKS Inc. (www.mks.com TSX: MKX) one of Canada's leading enterprise software vendors and whose products optimize internal software development within large corporations. As Chairman and CEO he led growth to over $40 million revenue and 350 employees worldwide, including seven acquisitions.
Randall is a seasoned board member/advisor having worked with many technology firms including Necho Systems Corp, GoodContacts, Whitehill Technologies, Waterloo Maple Software, Arise Technologies and Nanodesign.
Randall holds an Honors B.Math from University of Waterloo and was the 1997 High Technology Entrepreneur of the Year and the 2005 recipient of the Impact Award from Communitech.

Ray Simonson General Partner
Ray Simonson joined VERDEXUS in 2004 as a Waterloo-based partner. Ray is a seasoned executive and entrepreneur with a 27 year of track record in mission critical enterprise technology.
Commencing April 2006, Ray serves as CEO of Verdexus portfolio company Software Innovation (www.softinn.com) after serving as CTO from September 2004.
Prior to joining Verdexus, Ray was Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of CheckFree i-Solutions from 2000 to 2004. From 1996 to 2000, as Chief Technology Officer, he co-founded Bluegill Technologies and assembled and led the development of the first XML-based internet billing application. This product led to the $250 million acquisition of Bluegill by CheckFree.
Prior to his experience with Bluegill and CheckFree, Ray was in a series of senior roles focused on delivering mission critical IT systems in insurance. Ray was a principal consultant with the Ashburnham Group specializing in advanced document systems. He developed his passion for applying technology to solve business problems in innovative ways during his sixteen years in Information Systems, with the Mutual Group.
An acknowledged industry expert in the fields of enterprise content management and web application development, Ray is a long term board member of Xplor International, focused on the electronic document services industry. He is also a board member of Communitech Technology Association. Ray attended Systems Design Engineering at University of Waterloo and is a graduate of the finance program at Queen's University.

Suresh Patel Senior Advisor
A global senior executive with a focus on the EMEA markets, Suresh Patel is a Senior Advisor for Verdexus.
With a focus on Corporate Finance and emerging markets, Suresh has more than 20 years experience in the IT, Wireless, Media and Security marketplace. Prior to Verdexus, he was Head of the European Investment arm of Compaq Computer Corp based in Zurich, Switzerland. The remit included tech investments in all industry sectors, syndication of deals in technology and incremental sales models in more than 95 countries involving both small and large transactions.
Previous to Compaq he was a director of Netscape Communications Europe, responsible for sales and marketing in emerging markets based out of Paris. Prior to two years at Netscape, Suresh was general manager of Lotus Development Europe for seven years responsible for Sales and Marketing in Eastern Europe/CIS, Greece, Turkey and Israel.
Suresh has served as advisory board member of Ernst & Young's European Technology group. This role allowed E&Y and the potential funding of companies to understand the role of value added investments from industry players. Suresh lives in Munich but can be found doing speeches at various industry events in Stockholm, Tel Aviv, London and Zurich. He received his technology diploma in England at the University of Brighton, specialising in Artificial Intelligence.
